Mark has been with Access for over 30 years now and has gathered a wide and varied knowledge of the materials handling industry not just in the Scottish but UK marketplace. Starting with the company originally as a forklift engineer, Mark has worked through the ranks to now lead and direct Scotland’s most successful independent forklift company.
Paul McGilvray
SERVICE MANAGER
Paul has been in the material handling industry for over 20+ years gaining vast knowledge on various products and manufacturers. He leads our extensive Service and Parts Department and Hire and Rental Fleet across the UK. Paul ensures the team are focused, energised and ready to react to any existing and new customer needs regardless of brand.
Nuala Borthwick
HIRE DESK & CREDIT CONTROLLER
Nuala is our Hire Desk and Credit Controller. Dealing with our customers hire requirements and enquiries, processing payment queries daily, she is well versed in all things going on at Access Mechanical Handling.

Gail Lafferty
SERVICE ADMINISTRATOR
Gail is our Service Administrator, she has been with Access Mechanical Handling since 2020. With her years of previous experience in Planning/Purchasing/Admin roles contributing to her role here. She is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Service Department, working alongside Service Control ensuring Thorough Examinations/Routine Maintenance and Repairs are dealt with effectively and efficiently. As one of our Thorough Examination Managers she ensures all associated paperwork, certification and contracts are current.
Lorna Queen
ACCOUNTS ADMINISTRATOR
Lorna deals with all things accounts and the Rental Contracts for the company. Lorna has been with Access Mechanical Handling since March 2021 and brings 30 years of Finance/Business experience to the team.
Outside of Access you will find her either playing guitar, watching the Formula 1 and Boxing or spending time with her daft cat Diesel.
Glenn Whymark
SERVICE CONTROLLER
Glenn has been in the forklift industry for over 26 years and worked with varied companies and multiple manufacturers in the UK throughout his career. Glenn in his 3 years with Access Mechanical Handling oversees all the day to day planned maintenance and repairs, scheduling jobs for our engineers and is always at the forefront of the business when it comes to service. Glenn loves a bit of gardening and DIY and always on hand for some DIY tips and also loves to watch his beloved Tottenham Hotspur when he gets the chance.
Kenny McFadyen
WORKSHOP FOREMAN
Kenny is our Workshop Foreman, he has been with Access Mechanical Handling since 2020. Starting his apprenticeship back in 1980 in Construction Plant Maintenance Kenny has gained a vast knowledge of all things mechanical and electrical. Over the years he has worked on everything from small to large plant, telehandlers and a wide range of forklifts all over the country. He is responsible for the day-to-day running of our workshop and ensures the workshop is organised, running efficiently and the short-term hire fleet is maintained to a high standard.
